Peer Gynt (1867)Would you believe a madcap zany play based on the life of a Norwegian folk hero? Peer Gynt sallies forth on a series of misadventures that span the globe until, returning home a broken old man, he finds his true love Solveig has loyally awaited his return. What's not to like about that? I'm anxious to see a stage version of this one because it is so visual and grandiose, I'm not certain how you could stage it. An interesting and amusing work.
